Allow Package Cloning between Saved Comparison Pairs
Please allow us to select a comparison pair as the source/destination when cloning a package. This will make it much easier to select the source and destination when cloning a package, and reduce the risks associated with accidentally selecting the wrong repo or branch or sandbox.

Allow exporting of custom filter settings
I have some regexes configured specifically for continuous integration, changing these would likely break our CI process. I would like to be able to export a JSON or YAML (or whatever sensible text based format) of my filter configuration, so I can easily view which metadata I'm selecting and excluding through regex, and possibly commit this file to source control.
This is primarily because our team shares filters, and I'd hate to lose the configuration because of someone mucking up.

Display Permission Set changes as one entry
When working with Permission Set changes, it sometimes would be useful to see them grouped by Permission Set instead of being disaggregated by field. For example, we are migrating from using Profiles to Permission sets to grant all access. Currently, if we make changes to many (>100) fields in two different Permission Sets, we have to review many (>100) entries. Also, grouping by permission set would allow us to deploy changes to one Permission Set while ignoring the other.

Add support for deploying a name change to a SFDC component (such as profile)
We occasionally change profile names during permssions clean-up projects. Currently, when you deploy a profile with a changed name, Gearset recognizes it as a "new" and a "deleted" profile, instead of a single "changed" component, which makes the deployment challenging.
I know that the name is used as an identifier, since the Id may not always match between source and target. However, if you add support for this, the tool could try to identify components with name changes by looking for the same Id in source and target with a changed name.

Support for WaveXmd metadata is missing
If we replace default DataSet in Einstein Analytics, it creates another type of metadata "WaveXmd". Support for the deployment of this metadata is missing from Gearset and as per discussion with Gearset team, it's a bug. Could you please fix it.

Consistently position the Source > Target UI element
In the various screens of a comparison + deployment, the Source > Target element jumps around:
- Top of the page for the Comparing... page
- Middle of the page for the Compare page
- Top-left for the Comparison Summary page
- Top-right for the Deployment page
- Middle of the page for the Deployment Results pageDuring this process, I am constantly double-checking to make sure that I am using the correct Source & Destination environments so as not to make a mistake. Instead of scanning the entire screen to see where this is annotated, I would like to…

Display more workflow subcomponents under Workflow for Metadata filter
Currently, two sub-components display under Workflow when selecting metadata types within a filter.
- WorkflowAlert
- WorkflowRule
There's more sub-components than those two and I'd argue that there's two that are frequently used that should be included for visibility
- WorkflowFieldUpdate
- WorkflowOutboundMessage
There's 2 more, but these may be used less frequently and not needed for visibility
- WorkflowKnowledgePublish
- WorkflowTask

Show/Flag what unlocked package elements are getting updated on Monitoring Jobs
When you look at the details of a monitoring job there is a field called "Packages Afftected" that shows green when is 0 and orange when >0.
There is a description that says...
Unlocked packages have been modified. View the comparison to see details.
However, when you look at the details there is nothing there to see what unlocked package element was modified. So the warning it is not very helpful at all.
Can this be implemented so that the warning is actionable.

The Action Order in the XML should follow the sortOrder
Sometimes there is a difference between a object because the order of the platformActionListItems are different. Sometimes an item with order 0 comes first, but it is possible that an item with 9 comes first. This is probably an error in Salesforce API, but Gearset should order this list before the comparison so 0 will always be the first item.

Improve CI validations jobs - allow incremental comparisons with Github Pull Request/Push Validations
Currently, the only way to validate a branch, push, or pull request is to essentially have gearset pull all metadata from the repository and the org.
This can result in a long wait time for validation. It'd be great if we could have quicker turnaround for users to get feedback after a push/pull request.
Since github/provider of choice would have the exact metadata that changed in the push/pull request, it'd be helpful to only have gearset pull the metadata that actually changed to limit how much time is spent simply pulling all metadata to make the comparison.

Ability to Compare metadata filters
When we have too many metadata filters, it is getting hard to keep track of them and figure out the similarities between them. It would be great to have an option to compare custom metadata filters.

Distinguish between code changes and just API metadata changes for Apex in Comparison Window
For large code comparisons, it'd be great to have the ability to see when it's just a change in API vs. actual differences. Right now, you'd have to click on every row to see what the actual change was.

Mark items as already reviewed earlier
Today we are gearing up for a major deploy so we are deploying many different changes into gitHub. It would be nice to be able to mark whole sections of content as already reviewed such that any new comparison could ignore all of that content. Then we could look at only the new or newly changed/deleted content.

Allow for selecting/unselecting Filter by Package.xml
When doing a clone or a refresh comparison today the ability does not exist to add or remove the option of whether you are filtering by package.xml. I would like to see this added.
For us what might occur at times is that we have a release occur where this is accidentally selected and we find that a number of items are missing and due to this being selected. We have no way to remove the selection and have ended up starting over. One of a number of scenarios where it would be nice to have the option to do…

Warn the user of unsaved changes to an org compare filter
It would be nice if we got a warning if we have selected specific components in a filter but havent saved the filter when we hit OK. I've lost a lot of work on a custom filter because I forgot to hit 'Save' - I would have thought it would auto-save when you hit OK.

Import list of metadata items into org comparison.
When running a comparison, a user should be able to import a list of metadata items based on an agreed format (likely API names). This list would allow the user to save effort from copy pasting api names if they track their changes in an external system. For example, we track changes in our release system within our Salesforce production org. Our manifest items are tracked such as "customobjectc.customfield__c" and have statuses such as new/updated/deleted so we have a historical references of our changes. Being able to import these changes while still having the ability to select…

Make it easier to select all custom field translations for deployment
Right now if you want to select translations for certain custom fields, it is necessary to expand the sub-components for each field and select the translation. The second option is to go to the custom object and expand the sub-components in order to check translations which will include all the custom field translations for this object.
It would be helpful to get a way to select the translations for specific custom fields in the deployment.2 votes -
Allow Downloading of git diff for Comparison
It can be difficult to evaluate the scope of changes by clicking in the Comparison view on one metadata element at a time to see the differences. We would much prefer to be able to download a git diff and examine the delta as a cohesive changeset.
The user should be able to download the contents of the currently selected tab (All Changes, New Changes, or Selected Changes) in the format of a git unified diff. The user can then use the software of their choice to view the diff.
This will also enable more advanced workflows, as git diffs…

Ability to manually hide/filter component differences by single flag
When reviewing comparisons it would be extremely helpful to have the ability to manually 'hide' a component difference (e.g. a single flag to filter out, ignore, or even 'grey' a component differences) once you have a) reviewed the XML and b) determined you do not want to deploy or view that component in a saved draft. I.e. a third state that is not simply 'selected' or 'deselected'.
Current filters by component type, name, et al. don't accommodate for wanting to hide a known component difference (e.g. like an Apex class still under development) so that you can only see remaining…
