Support the CustomHelpMenuSection metadata item
We use the CustomHelpMenuSection item to customise our Help & Training dropdown list in Salesforce, and we would like to include it in our deployments automatically.
It's been available in the Metadata API since version 45, but Gearset doesn't appear to support it yet.
Will it be available soon?

Be able to add the friendly name when adding a new org
Be able to add the friendly name when adding a new org as this saves going back to the list of orgs and adding then
1 voteOnce you’ve authorized the org, a friendly name field will then become available in the dialog to allow you to also specify its name.

Ability to sort on the Change monitoring overview Page
From the Change monitoring overview page it would be helpful to sort by the various "Headings" currently they are not sortable at all.

Character count for "Deployment notes"
Add character count for "Deployment notes". Handy for example when integrating with Github and using its web UI, where the commit messages (deployment notes) get "truncated" past 72 chars I think.

Ability to Sort and Filter the Test Monitoring Overview Page
As a consultant it would be nice to be able to Sort/Filter on the Test Monitoring Overview Page as we have many Jobs setup already and expect to expand to many many more it would be helpful to be able to sort and maybe even filter this list.
1 voteHi Josh,
You can now filter and sort the test monitoring overview page.

Stephen

Add support for the CspTrustedSite metadata type
It would be nice if Gearset could add support for the CspTrustedSite metadata type (https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.api_meta.meta/api_meta/meta_csptrustedsite.htm) to its supported metadata list.

Sort order of Orgs ignores friendly name
If you have friendly names for your org connections, the list of orgs presented on the Comparison page ignores these and instead sorts on sandbox name. Since the lines show friendly name left most; this is not natural to the human to see things out of order
Example
OrderFix (joe.blow@foo.com.story003)
Invoicing (joe.blow@foo.com.story010)
AlphaTest (joe.blow@foo.com.story091)when what the eye wants to see is:
AlphaTest (joe.blow@foo.com.story091)
Invoicing (joe.blow@foo.com.story010)
OrderFix (joe.blow@foo.com.story003)1 vote -
Active Link to Deployment Destination
When you finish a deployment you get a "Deployment Summary" screen that has handy details. It does not, however, have a link to the commit/branch in Github or other site where the destination ended up. I have to jump to my Github page and refresh instead of having a direct link. Yes, it's a tiny feature but is useful for a Gearset newbie like me.

Support Wave Analytics Metadata
We have been engaging in quite a few Salesforce Analytics (ie. Wave Analytics, Einstein Analytics or whatever the current branding label) projects lately. Version control on all of the related metadata is critical it would be enormously beneficial for Gearset to be able to support these metadata elements.
The following Analytics metadata types are supported in the Metadata API:
WaveApplication
WaveDashboard
WaveDataflow
WaveDataset
WaveLens
WaveXmd
WaveTemplateBundlePlease consider adding this to the roadmap for immediate consideration!
Best regards,
Mike1 voteThis has been shipped and we’ve written up an overview of the feature: https://gearset.com/blog/gearset-and-einstein-analytics-deploy-wave-applications-with-ease

Run external tools like PMD as part of Schedule Tests/Monitor Org
PMD tool that does apex code 'quality' measurements would be kind of cool to run (optionally) as part of a regular monitoring/test job. This could be generalized to any external tool
1 voteGearset will now run PMD to track code analysis as part of the Monitoring and Backup flow. The plan is to roll this out to other parts of the app so we can more easily track the change in code quality.

Create CI deployments which only run on demand
Have jobs that run only manually, rather than on time or commit basis.
Specify the source and target and the metadata filter, and save as a preset job. The job can then be triggered to run on demand with a "Run now" button. This means we can safely update our branch until ready to deploy, then don't have to manually compare orgs to push the changes out1 vote -
Exporting Scheduled Test Results to File
We would like to see the ability to export the scheduled test results to PDF or Spreadsheet. This will allow us to associate test results with our internal work items and allow visibility into the test results. I understand that users can view the test results with no license. However, i see value in having the export available; similar to the export of the deployment report.
1 voteYou can now export test results as an Excel file from the test run history by clicking the Excel icon.

Have CI jobs work using BitBucket webhooks
Just like it is already with GitHub.
1 voteSupport for Bitbucket webhooks for CI jobs is now live if you want to test it out.

Would be awesome to have the equivalent of GitHub and GitLab for BitBucket!
1 voteWe’ve now shipped Bitbucket support in Gearset.

Option to run tests when deploying to dev or sandbox orgs
You run tests when deploying to production orgs, which is great, but sometimes I want to force tests to be run when deploying to sandboxes or dev orgs. Can you add in an option to run tests for these orgs?
1 voteThis has now been shipped. You can choose whether or not to run tests when clicking the deploy or validate buttons.

Deploy from change monitoring result
It would be great to be able to deploy changes detected in a specific change monitor result from the report history. Either to roll them back if they are unwanted, or deploy them to other orgs to replicate them into dev boxes.
0 votesWe think there are two parts to this request.
We’ve now added the ability to roll back changes from a change monitor result – you can selectively remove any changes made to that org on a daily basis by comparing from a snapshot to live state.
We’re now working on adding support to clone a detected change and deploy it to other orgs. This would let you push changes made in Prod down to a Sandbox, for example.
The second part of this is contained in another ticket, so we’re marking this one as completed.

Deploy to source control
It would be great to be able to deploy changes to my source control system, as well as from them, from the hosted app.
