  1. Do not add Pre/Post Deployment if there is no value.

    The current behavior is when the developer do not have any Pre/Post deployment steps added in his/her PR even though Gearset adds the comment in VCS and Jira, and as a result, it creates lots of noise.

  2. Add the ability to use attachments (e.g Screenshot) in Pre/Post in GS Pipeline

    Adding the screenshots in Pre/Post deployments is very essential to streamline the deployments. Sometimes the steps could be complex and confusing, and if the build team could add the screenshots, then it will help the release team to execute those manual steps without the need to get in touch with the developer.

  3. UI improvement suggestion

    Hi, just a quick suggestion for improvement as someone who is using the Pipelines feature. Would really like to be able to get to the pipelines screen a lot easier - ideally with one click. Best case scenario is I can customize what I see in the left navigation panel and also choose to "pin" it. I've been a Gearset user for 7+ years and I still struggle to find what I need in that navigation panel. I think these features would make my life 10x easier!

    Hi AI Hotchkiss, thank you for the suggestion.

    Gearset lets you configure your homepage (My Account -> Profile Settings -> Homepage).

    You can choose "Deployment Pipelines" option in the drop-down to make Pipelines your homepage when logging to Gearset.

  4. MetaData Type for BatchProcessJobDefinition missing

    The MetaDataType for BatchProcessJobDefinition is missing from GearSet's list.
    Need this added to allow us to deploy Batch Process Job Definitions between environments.

  6. Add ability to precision deploy custom applications and all other file types

    The ability to select specific lines in files for deployments is crucial for org and project management, and should be expanded to all file types. For example it currently is not possible to only deploy a new tab in a custom application, without deploying all other changes in that custom app, which is not manageable with multiple projects/updates being worked on that application concurrently.

  7. Precision Deployments for Lead Convert Settings

    Precision Deployment is currently not enabled for lead convert settings metadata. 2 orgs may have different lead convert settings or we may not want to migrate all the mappings from one to other. Hence, this is a must have.

  9. support blank values and/or regex in the "Find What" field on Environment Variables

    ...support blank values and/or regex in the "Find What" field on Environment Variables.

    I would like to replace the value in a field on a Custom Metadata Type with an environment specific value, regardless as to what the value is in the source file. Currently I need to specify an specific value in the source to be replaced.

    You can now use Regular Expressions with Environment variables.

    Simply enter the regex value in the "Find what" field and tick the "Regex" checkbox before hitting "Add environment variable" button.

  10. Add schedule deployment for Pipelines

    It would be great to add a new feature to cherry pick and schedule deployment for the changes that have reached up till staging/uat and should be released to Prod. Without this feature it becomes difficult to manage releases to avoid downtime.

  11. Allow me to configure my default landing page on logging in

    Specifically, I use the Pipelines most of the time and would love for that to be there as soon as I login. While my use case is Pipelines specific, I would guess that others might want a different page when they login, so it would be nice to be able to configure this on a per-account basis.

  12. Offer Canadian data residency.

    We have clients in Canada that require data residency for data backups/deployments and even metadata deployments/processing.

    Please add the option for a Canadian hosted Gearset account.

  13. Show deployment friendly name on Deployment successful page

    On the "Deployment successful" page, I'd like to see the Deployment friendly name displayed. This would be much more useful than the Salesforce Id that is currently displayed.

  14. Desktop notification when deployment is complete

    When you launch a deployment to a target org the browser tab (which will be one of many in your browser) shows Depl...

    Since the user is multi-tasking, it would be helpful to add a desktop notification and change the browser tab to alert user when deployment is done (like what Gearset does when a comparison is completed)

    This could be a D ✅ or D ❌ depending on whether deploy succeeded or failed

  15. Make fail job optional for warning PMD analyses

    As a developer leader, I don't want the job to fail if I get a warning from PMD. But I want to be notified if the code has any warning.
    I would like the failure for warnings to be optional. But always be warned that it has flaws.

  16. Default option for the deployment component list for JIRA issues

    I really like the feature to add a deployment component list to a JIRA ticket. I would like to have the ability to default this ON.
    It is currently defaulted to OFF.

  17. Validation job ownership should be transferred

    Good to have capabilities to transfer ownership of validation job to other member in the team so as if one person is on vacation then there should be easy way to transfer ownership of validation job to other member so as if required - Adjustment can be done to CI jobs.

  20. Allow "View Errors" in CI Job History page to be opened in a new tab

    It would be great if the button allowed to be opened in a new tab (essentially allow buttons and links to act like regular HTML elements that allow opening in a new tab via Cmd/Ctrl+click or via right click)

    Example right clicking the "View Errors" shows no open to open in a new tab https://d.pr/i/m5CNIG

    Right clicking "View comparison" allows for it https://d.pr/i/WpCfFF
