This would be incredibly useful for many types of uploads. During testing cycles, we frequently need to pre-load data into Salesforce that will be integrated with our client's ERP system. This process of data loading can repeat several times as we move through our ERP/Salesforce integration testing cycles.

Using formulas is an acceptable workaround, but it would be nice to be able to filter on common relationships such as RecordType.DeveloperName with needing to create a formula field.

This would be a great feature! We are a managed package provider that also does implementation consulting and we use attachments to serve up our custom PDF report templates. These templates often require a lot of work on the consulting side and being able to easily deploy differences would serve to make our sandbox deployments easier and less prone to forgetting to execute an important step like this.
