Merging differences between Apex classes and VisualForce pages is difficult to do automatically due to the understanding required by the developer. For differences between two orgs in other object types, Gearset helps you sidestep that with our granular comparison results. We’re currently working on a technical spike to incorporate source tracking capabilities into how we retrieve metadata. We’ll keep you updated on progress.

Could be super helpful as "list views" constantly show and we don't actually care about those changes (but they're included with "objects"). Listing which metadata types were changed in the message would help the user decide whether they need to click into Gearset to check the details or not.
