    definitely a great idea. With source control, we want the flexibility to deploy new reports/dashboards/list views we may build but don't have all of that metadata in source control as it's changed by end users in production as well.

    yes, and "relatedListItem" has a similar setup (provides sort order which is accurate even though ordering returned is random by Salesforce). This would eliminate some massive false diffs in the layout metadata type.

    This can be confusing for end users if they're unsure the regex that they used worked or that the filter actually did anything unless it changes the top level rows that display on the comparison window.

    It'd be great, for instance, to have the deleted field's references in Permission Set be removed just like it does for Profiles with the Repo Cleaner in Repositories.

    Yes. As it stands, we have no control over templates when the user leaves and have no means of getting it removed.
