  1. When an Installed Package is installed via GS permission sets with View/Edit All Data system permission don't automatically get updated

When an Installed Package is installed via GS, permission sets with View/Edit All Data system permission don't automatically get updated for the new objects in the package like they do during a manual install. We then have to update the PS via deployment or manually or future deployments will fail with "Read All permission is required for [sObject]". I would think it would be fairly safe to allow GS to automatically add the appropriate object permissions to the perm set in the target org since Salesforce requires that all objects have, at minimum, the same level of access as the…

  3. Ability for Enterprise User with Role "Owner" to Delete Validated Deployment by Other User

This feature would allow Enterprise user with Role"Owner" to Delete Validated Deployment by Other Users. The reason for doing this is that there could be packages created in error and this would allow release managers who are typically owners to cleanup.

  4. Allow regex expression in custom metadata filter to be edited

Once you create a regex filter in your your Metadata Filter, you can't select it and edit it. You have to delete and re-enter.

This is especially useful when working with CI job filters

  5. Repo Cleaner support when you stop licensing a feature

When you stop licensing a feature, there could be all sorts of cruft in the VCS that is otherwise challenging to remove using normal Gearset tools.

Example: We stopped licensing LiveAgent but our VCS is full of references to LiveChatTranscript and other CustomObjects used by this feature. This is particularly apparent with sub-elements of Profile

It would be cool if Gearset repo cleaner could detect when standard objects no longer available in the source org of the compare would be considered as deleted and all refs to those standard objects would be repo-cleaned.

  6. Add a deployed components count to the Deployment History table

We'd like the ability to view the number of changes that were deployed from the Deployment History table view so that we can quickly scan the list of recent deployments and identify certain deployments using that additional information.

  7. resize column widths on "deployment history" page (no truncated values)

On the deployment history page, the column widths are fixed. If you have a value in the "friendly name" column that's over a certain character count, it gets truncated automatically. there is a tool tip to see the full value by hovering, but if you use consistent naming standards for naming deployment packages, this can result in having to hover over many package (i.e. rows) to find the one you want.

if making the column width customizable isn't possible, then making the "friendly name" column character limit longer would be a good start!

  8. Repo cleaner for managed package deletions

When you delete a managed package from VCS by deleting its <InstalledPackage>, Gearset should look for all traces of that managed package in VCS and delete those files/update the metadata

The <InstalledPackage> file identifies the namespace - eg. SomePkg, and Gearset should be able to remove files that start SomePkg__ as well as delete/edit metadatablocks within other files that reference SomePkg__c.

It is extremely tedious to remove managed package metadata from VCS otherwise; especially if the customer opted to put a lot of managed package metadata in VCS (perhaps by accident)

  9. Allow users to share deployment drafts across different Gearset environment

Lets say multiple vendors are working on different environments and done the deployment across all the lower environments using their own Gearset. But coming to the production org. internal team will be performing the deployments using internal Gearset. So Instead of recreating the deployment draft again, it would be very useful internal team can reuse the draft created by vendor in different Gearset environment.

  10. Show data hosting option chosen for an account

It would be great to see the chosen data hosting option for an account in the 'My Account' area. Without it security audits will not be able to verify what setting was chosen and will have to rely on documentation held elsewhere.

  14. I would like the ability to change filtered metadata to their API names

I recently had an internal business conversation to clarify what would and wouldn't be included in our new CI/CD process leveraging gearset to push to orgs. When we had this conversation we used the Metadata API names to discuss and then when I went to implement it in Gearset I saw that the filters are actually some translated 'friendly' names.
This is of course fine for most use cases, but it made it really difficult to make sure nothing is being missed when setting up the CI/CD filter type.

I would kindly ask that you implement some switch to allow…

  15. Hide irrelevant comparison types/components

After selecting the source org and viewing the metadata comparison filters, there should be an option to only show those types that contain data (the ones that have a number in parentheses). Or in other words... the ability to hide anything that isn't being used.

This would make it much faster to create new comparisons (or troubleshoot existing ones).

  16. Delegate access to a scratch org

The ability to delegate access to a scratch org without extending access to the related production environment would be helpful. We have situations where we need developers to build new ideas in a scratch org but do not want to extend the access to the production environment

  18. Create post deployment automations to SF records

    Hi Gearset😍
    Love your deployment product!

We are using salesforce as a ticketing system - any chance you are planning to make a connection to Salesforce records like you did for Jira or Azure?

I would love the have the option to do some things automatically after a deployment, for example:
Attaching the deployment report to the ticket
    Updating Status field
Update Environment Field (based on target org name)
Posting a chatter post about the deployment

    Thanks!

  19. Mass delete of deployment and validation history

Would like the ability to delete multiple history items at once. The current process of clicking delete and then clicking the confirmation is cumbersome and time consuming when we have multiple users and multiple environments kicking off many CI validations through the day. Failure to clean up the Validation history, especially, eventually brings Gearset CI viewing to a crawl. Having the ability to delete multiple at once and/or a the ability to add a retention period for history would be ideal. Validation history is the most important because you can't filter by time period like you can when you go…

  20. Clone deployment package from within the CI job history

We have a feature branch we create a PR 1 to SIT -> we merge the branch -> deploys to SIT -> we delete the branch
We have a feature branch we create a PR 2 to SIT -> we merge the branch -> deploys to SIT -> we delete the branch
now both PRs are in SIT branch
we make a PR from SIT to UAT -> Both PR's are validated against UAT -> if all is good both PR's get deployed to UAT
but then Monday comes and business wants JUST PR1 to be deployed to production
    so…
