Query for Deleted Records
It would be helpful to have a way to query for all deleted records across multiple backup jobs for a specific object.

[Data Backup] Allow field filtering on the Job History Search page
The ability to search for a specific record in the data backup Job History search tab is very helpful. As it exists today, you can search by ID or by Value - it appears that if you search by Value, it will try to find any record with that value on some subset of fields for the object chosen. However, if you have a very large dataset, the search takes an extremely long time to execute.
Here is a real world example for my company- we have Person Accounts enabled in our org and have about 9M records. More often…

Ability to download/restore data in bulk
We deleted 40 000 records, now we want to download data from the backup for all of them. I can filter them, select for which I want to get it and download, the challenge is, that only 500 records are loaded by default and I can load more in a batch of 500. A lot of clicking to see all of them.

Add the ability to back up Salesforce Change sets
While we use Gearset for our change sets, we have time where a 3rd party developer or a new admin uses standard Salesforce Change sets. We have had an incident where Hyperforce wiped out all of our change sets in all sandboxes, it would beneficial to add the ability to the backup to back up change sets

Show file storage backup progression
When having large SF orgs with large file storage amount, is impossible to see the progression on the backup. You can only see the object that's being processed. For our org we've seen "Attachments" object under backup for more than 1 month without any idea on where we were.
It would be really helpful to have information on the progression of each backup object (either data or file storage).
Showing the information like: "Backing up file storage in 'Attachments' (1/12). Retrieving record XX of a total of XXX records from Salesforce". Already backed up XX GB in file storage.1 vote -
disable the ability to delete backups to prevent malicious actors and accidental damage
A lot of backup providers offer the ability to disable the ability to delete backups. This provides protection for 2 scenarios:
A hacker compromises an administrator account and uses this access to remove backups to prevent recovery after ransomware or other attack
An administrator accidentally deletes backups that are required
If there is a legitimate use case for backups to be deleted, the ability to delete can be temporarily turned on but only by contacting support and only with the confirmation of 2 or more admins.

Backup data search feature should allow wildcards
Current the backup/restore search feature is an exact match search only. It would be great to use wild cards or to select "contains" "starts with" "ends with" or simply allow the user to use % to achieve the same.
For example if I wanted to search for the account Willy Wonky Chocolate Factory, with the exact match I have to know the exact name, but with wild card I could search for %Chocolate% and get all accounts backed up with Chocolate in their name.

Identify different backup job types (full vs. incremental)
Today, it is not possible to identify the backup job type, so we cannot really distinguish between a full and an incremental backup. This would be helpful to get better visibility when a full backup job is/was running.

Ability to test restoring of backup data periodically
It will be nice to have option to automate and test restoring of backup data periodically into a sandbox. Since it is going to be restoring production data to sandbox, there should be options to restore chunk of production data (due to the storage limitation with sandbox) and the metadata.

backup expiration
For compliance purposes I'd like to request an option to list the data backup expiration date. We are able to choose how long to retain the backup, but I do not see a place that lists when the backup is set to expire.

Add the option to schedule weekly, monthly and yearly backups
To meet our backup compliance requirements I'd like to suggest an option to schedule weekly, monthly, and yearly backups to go along with the daily backup option that is currently available. This way, we could setup multiple backup tasks with different retention.
Thanks

Allow searching for specific fields in backups
Backups are currently only helpful if we know when an object was changed or deleted. However, we often run into an issue where an object was changed an unknown time ago, we have to spend a lengthy amount of time searching through backups. This is a very, very tedious process as you can't open backup runs in new tabs, so you have to click the link, go back, reset the date filters, and find where you left off. If we could use search criteria to filter data and metadata changes, that would help tremendously!

Force a full production backup, and forbid its deletion
I was not able to buy this tool because to me it was a blocker that we have the right to delete the production backup.
I may agree that the we don't force for a full backup, but leaving the option to descope tables is equivalent as not backing up.
Force at least an initial configuration and allow only to add more scope to the backup, but never to reduce it or delete without contacting your support who should get an authorization from more than one person on the client side.If I'm an admin at salesforce, and an admin…

Ability to filter records on field "ischanged" when doing a data backup comparison.
Instead of just being able to filter on field values when comparing a data backup. Give the user the ability to filter on a certain field being changed.

Record/file level filters for Backup jobs
Allow Backup job filters to be configured for specific records/files rather than entire objects.

API to export backup to S3 for data warehousing/datalake
A lot of time we would like to have data out of SF not just for backup purposes but for data analytical purposes as well. Ownbackup currently has this functionality via APIs.

If gearset has this, it would help us move to GS for all our SF problesms

Production/Sandbox Backup job color
The backup job color (or a colored tag) should be introduced so you can clearly see which backup job is for Production and which is for a Sandbox.
At the moment they all look the same and you have to make sure you are clicking on the correct one, only by looking at the username to understand if it is a Production org or not.
This is confusing and risky

Allow retention policies to be set on individual core objects
It would be useful to be able to set individual retention policies on core objects, rather than on the entire backup job. This is for an old org (c.10 years), ideally you'd be able to set differing retention policies on different objects; e.g accounts after 7 years but contacts after 5 years.

Store List of Objects Downloaded in Data Download History
Given that the actual download files for Data Download expire after a short amount of time (which is completely logical), it would be beneficial to be able to know what objects were included in the data downloaded, and potentially any filters used.
The main reason behind this is from a security stand point, if an employee with access were to go rouge and decide to download sensitive data to sell/take with them, there is no way of telling what kind of data they may have if you were to miss the window of the backup being available.
