Add the option to schedule weekly, monthly and yearly backups
To meet our backup compliance requirements I'd like to suggest an option to schedule weekly, monthly, and yearly backups to go along with the daily backup option that is currently available. This way, we could setup multiple backup tasks with different retention.
Thanks

Ability to filter records on field "ischanged" when doing a data backup comparison.
Instead of just being able to filter on field values when comparing a data backup. Give the user the ability to filter on a certain field being changed.

backup expiration
For compliance purposes I'd like to request an option to list the data backup expiration date. We are able to choose how long to retain the backup, but I do not see a place that lists when the backup is set to expire.

API to export backup to S3 for data warehousing/datalake
A lot of time we would like to have data out of SF not just for backup purposes but for data analytical purposes as well. Ownbackup currently has this functionality via APIs.

If gearset has this, it would help us move to GS for all our SF problesms

Allow retention policies to be set on individual core objects
It would be useful to be able to set individual retention policies on core objects, rather than on the entire backup job. This is for an old org (c.10 years), ideally you'd be able to set differing retention policies on different objects; e.g accounts after 7 years but contacts after 5 years.

Allow backup job permissions to be control by Roles
Backup permissions are separate from the Roles, causing duplicate permission maintenance. Please allow backups to use Roles instead

Ability to download/restore data in bulk
We deleted 40 000 records, now we want to download data from the backup for all of them. I can filter them, select for which I want to get it and download, the challenge is, that only 500 records are loaded by default and I can load more in a batch of 500. A lot of clicking to see all of them.

disable the ability to delete backups to prevent malicious actors and accidental damage
A lot of backup providers offer the ability to disable the ability to delete backups. This provides protection for 2 scenarios:
A hacker compromises an administrator account and uses this access to remove backups to prevent recovery after ransomware or other attack
An administrator accidentally deletes backups that are required
If there is a legitimate use case for backups to be deleted, the ability to delete can be temporarily turned on but only by contacting support and only with the confirmation of 2 or more admins.

Record/file level filters for Backup jobs
Allow Backup job filters to be configured for specific records/files rather than entire objects.

Production/Sandbox Backup job color
The backup job color (or a colored tag) should be introduced so you can clearly see which backup job is for Production and which is for a Sandbox.
At the moment they all look the same and you have to make sure you are clicking on the correct one, only by looking at the username to understand if it is a Production org or not.
This is confusing and risky

Apply masking of certain data across backups GDPR compliance
It would be great if records that were marked with certain GDPR attributes, possibly 'GDPR Removal = TRUE' that the backups could apply arbitrary data masking across all historical backups for email and phone number fields

Allow bulk export of selected objects in selected historical data backups
It would be great to export all, or a selected timeframe, of data backups for a job. I understand this would be a large volume of data so selecting by object would be great.
For example, if there is a data backup for all objects that runs daily, I'd like to select the Account object and select a backup timeframe of 1/1/2020 - 12/31/2020 to export a .zip folder of 365 Account.csv files.

Pulling object dependencies during data backup
A cool feature would be the ability for Data backup to have the ability to select object dependencies when you select a particular object for instances where you want to backup a subset of data and not just your entire org

Receive Email Notifications for Backup Job's Successful Backups and Text Message Notifications for Failed Backups
I would like to get an email for every run our backup job does, but I would like a text message if the backup job fails.

Ability to bulk download filtered records from Archived Data
We Archived over 50GB of data and business wanted to get a list of leads from the last 6 months. There were over 30,000 records and I had to click thru every page, let the page load before I could download them all. There were over 60 pages to click thru. One click button to download them all would a time saver.

Create Templates for Data Backups
During creation of Data Backups some requirement needs to be met across all jobs, so would be very good if we could replicate those requirements through a data back templae.
In my example I cannot backup files, attachments, documents, etc, so I need to create a job using the recommended selection, then edit the selection removing the objects I don`t want and replicate this same process across all the existing and new jobs.1 vote -
Download multiple objects at once from a backup run
Given the related nature of many objects within a Salesforce Org. It would be helpful to be able to filter on and select records from multiple objects in a single data download.

Audit history on Data Backup Jobs
For SOX compliance, we backup our Salesforce production data with Gearset. However, there is currently no way to determine the last time the job was modified. If at the bare minimum we had the last modified date & the user that modified the job, we would be able to confirm for the auditors that no changes have been made. Ideally, we would have tracking on the job for the different features - adding or removing objects, cadence of job, etc. For now, we're having to do a manual review.

Allow to export the data of an object or multiple objects for a specified time period
Through the UI or through an API allow to specify the Object (it can be the API name of it) and a time period e.g. 01/01/2024 to 31/12/2024 and generate an export of all records for that object in a zip with independent CSVs with all the data of that Object.
