Integrate with Agile Accelerator instead of just Jira
Integrate with Agile Accelerator instead of just Jira.
It would be great if Gearset (and ideally the Pipelines-feature) could integrate with Agile Accelerator.Since we're a Salesforce-partner we want to use as many Salesforce-native solutions. That's why we've been happily using Agile Accelerator for many years.
It would be great if Gearset can also integrate with Agile Accelerator instead of just Jira.
Right now the Gearset Pipelines feature isn't useful to us, because of this sole reason. Thanks for considering this!

Skip CI Jobs to source control when there are no changes.
After setting up a CI job from a Salesforce sandbox to a Bitbucket repo, it looks like the CI job always runs a commit, even if there are no actual changes. It would be great to not have this happen to avoid having many commits where there are no actual changes.

Improve detection of custom fields on Managed Package objects coming from Git
If I have a managed package object in Git, Gearset does not recognize it as managed package code in its comparison to a Salesforce org. This is a problem since it may not recognize a change if a custom field has been added to the managed package object.

Possibility to deploy to another sandboxe when a ci job passed
When configuring a CI job, we need an option to set a deployment to another sandboxe when the deployment or test classes run successfully in the current CI Job.
Ex: when a push to a branch on VCS triggers a CI job to deploy to a sandboxe like QA (with test classes run), we also have the possibility to set an auto deployment to staging sanboxe when the the job on QA passed successfully.15 votes -
Jira comment only for production releases
We would like to have the option to choose which deployments create Jira comments. As business users often watch our Jira tickets, we would prefer only posting comments when we actually "release" (deploy to our production org) and skip comments for releases on sandbox environments.

Add "View Validation in Salesforce" to your Github and Teams/Slack Channel messages.
Our pipeline is utilized by some implementation partners that we do not give access to Gearset. They manage their changes that flow through the pipeline with GitHub and receive pipeline updates in a Teams channel. Both of these options have a message to view validation errors in Gearset but the partner teams cannot see Gearset. If these messages included the same "View Validation in Salesforce" option that lives in Gearset, they could be redirected to the Salesforce error page to help their troubleshooting faster.

Show all Github requirements to merge in the Gearset pull request view.
We have required approvals enabled on PRs in Github. Currently when viewing a Pull Request in the Gearset Pipelines view, it does not show that a PR is blocked from being merged because at least one code review approval is needed in Github. This leads to accidentally attempting to "promote" in Gearset and then the Pull Request merge fails. We would like to see these (and any other Github requirements) showing up in Gearset so we are informed which PRs are approved and ready to promote.

Create GitHub App as alternative to GitHub OAuth
Gearset currently uses OAuth to connect to GitHub, and the way that works is that the OAuth connections have permissions to all repositories that my user has access to, which from a security perspective is a problem, because if the github key were ever compromised, it would provide very broad access to customers GitHub organizations.
Security teams would feel much better with the ability to limit the scope of access to just one repo instead of all the repos that my GitHub user has access to, which can be accomplished by creating a Github App which can be installed for…

Allow for selecting which repositories to display for github in org settings.
It would be helpful to be able to select repositories to display in the selection under Manage Orgs. Some of our repos in Github aren't related to Salesforce deployments, and filtering those out so they don't even show in the list would be really helpful in getting to selections faster.

Allow comparisons of a single commit from a VCS
Currently, you can select a VCS repo and branch to use for comparison. It'd be great if you could select a specific commit from that branch, so that you're only looking at an atomic set of changes. This would allow for fine-grained comparison and deployment of changes.

Automatically revert PR in GitHub CI Jobs
When a CI job fails, the bad code remains in the GitHub repo. I'd like to see a way to revert the commit/PR that caused that failure so that any CI jobs for new, unrelated, commits/PRs won't fail while the developer is working to resolve the issue.

Link to test runs in Slack messages (or Slack messsage customisaton/templating)
I have automated test jobs post about failed tests to our Slack. I want the posted Slack message to include a direct (though maybe shortened) link to the "Test run details" so that when we see Gearset telling us about some tests starting to fail I would be one click away from seeing a view of failed tests the message is talking about.
Next/bigger step would be a way to shape the Slack messages ourselves. The most basic templating setup where I could write my own Slack message with some placeholders like {{instancename}} or {{failedtests_link}}..

Add Validate pull requests for custom git
We have self-Manged Gitlab as a git provider.
It would be good to have the possibility to allow to run validations on pull requests for custom git repositories orsupport on-prem GitLab (submitted as https://gearset.uservoice.com/forums/283474-help-us-improve-gearset/suggestions/39728857-add-validate-pull-requests-for-on-prem-gitlab)

Chatter posting to
I think it would be useful if Gearset had the capability to make a chatter post to a specific group or @mention someone.

Add ability to exclude specific files/folders of repo from a compare with source control
Currently, if you try to compare a repository to a Salesforce org, it will throw an error with only the ability to send a report to Gearset if the repository contains files that are not compatible (gulp files, package.json, etc. at the root of the repo or any folder that isn't corresponding to a Salesforce type of file).
My suggestion would be to add the ability for the user to exclude those files or folders from the compare and retry when it fails. This issue currently prevents us to use source control in the comparisons.

In Azure Repositories, maintain owner when changing PR to gs-pipelines
When dealing with Azure Repository, the owner of the gs-pipeline PR is always the user used for authentication. Any way to include the original owner would be helpful since the messaging is lost this way

xml formatting support for Illuminated Cloud
I would like to see support in the 'XML quote escaping style' for Illuminted Cloud (and potentially other IDE Vendors)
I am struggling currently as my Admins use gearset for source control commits and my developers use Webstorm and Illuminated Cloud which causes conflicts (generally with the utf/UTF issues but some others as well around validation rules and some formula fields).
Ideally, If a team standardizes around one IDE then all they have to do is come in to that setting and set it to what the IDE does as a default and then you wouldn't get any conflicts with…6 votes -
