Make filter to search through all the components which are hidden under 1st level and expand the components
Can I ask Gearset team to add filter in compared components to search through all the components which are hidden under 1st level (e.g. custom objects or profiles).
For example, in the filter to compare metadata I selected certain custom tab (in the profile the access to the tab was deleted), also selected certain profiles, but serching through the compared metadata list I spent hours and did not manage to find those components for deployment package.
The same is for object access. I selected certain object, selected certain profiles - and again, it's a hard quest to find necessary components…3 votes -
Sandbox Deployment With 0 Components
Running a deployment into a Sandbox or Prod that has 0 components is a waste of time and resources.
If a deployment has 0 components in it, either
1. There's a problem because I was expecting greater than zero (so throw an error), or...
2. I want to run tests, and theres a different command for that (I shouldn't be executing a deployment just to run tests).3 votes -
Local Metadata ignored if name collides across an unlocked package namespace
Current Behavior:
During PR validation of an lwc component named "utils", Gearset reports no changes and runs validation against target org with 0 components because there is a Namespaced Unlocked Package in the target that also has an lwc component named "utils". This can be seen in the "Problem Analysis Results" within the Validation Details for the PR.Expected Behavior:
Gearset should not diff my local components against components that are behind a namespace. Even when those namespaced components are in an unlocked package. Perhaps Gearset should treat namespaced unlocked package components more like managed package components. This is related…

Provide and enforce branch naming conventions
Branches get all kinds of really stupid names over time. It would be nice if Gearset provided an option to template new branch names. For example when my users need to create a new feature branch for their user story, Gearset should prefix that branch with 'feature/'. When a release branch is created it should be prefixed as 'release/'. Bugfixes or Hotfixes could be bugfix/ or hotfix/.
Dictating naming conventions is unenforcable. Keeping branch names organized goes a long way to keeping the repository maintainable over long periods of time. Even if folks are well intentioned, git branches are case…

Implement Data migration support for nCino
nCino is a native Salesforce application for banking customers, configured using records, similar to how CPQ is configured. Deploying the data based configuration from environment to environment can be very difficult and painful. This would be a valuable feature for every nCino customer

Bring back the Suggested Fixes in Problem Analyzer to suggest permissions for fields when moving a new field.
Previously if you selected to migrate a field, Problem Analyzer would suggest the permissions. Now it only shows up on Warnings tab. This forces you to go back to the Comparison and individually find the permissions for each field. It should include these as Suggested Fixes. Additionally, if a field is listed as a Suggested Fix, the permissions for that field should be included as Suggested Fixes as well.

Allow CI jobs to use the running users GitHub connection
At the moment CI jobs within the Pipeline use the CI owner's GitHub account for new branches and pull requests etc which is stopping the code reviewers process within GitHub from working currently.
Can we allow the integration within Pipelines to run on the promoting user's connection (i.e. so requests are shown with the running user and not CI Owner within GitHub) or allow a generic user to be set up instead to untie deployments from the CI owner GitHub connection within Gearset.

Analyzer: Duplicate child relationship name detection
Use case -
target org has child object O lookup field F1 with childRelationship = Foo
source org has child object O lookup field F2 with childRelationship = FooIf you deploy, SFDC tells you that there is already a Child Relationship Foo on O
Analyzer could detect this and warn developer before deployment

Analyzer enhancement - detect missing ContentAsset in CustomApplication
Given this XML in CustomApplication
<CustomApplication xmlns="http://soap.sforce.com/2006/04/metadata">
<brand>
<headerColor>#0070D2</headerColor>

<logoVersion>1</logoVersion>
<shouldOverrideOrgTheme>false</shouldOverrideOrgTheme>
</brand>If user forgets to select Content Asset MyLogo, Analyzer should detect.

Automate creation of a release, which includes several stories
Within pipelines, provide the ability to validate multiple Pull Requests (PRs) in one shot (i.e. release), so that this release could be deployed to production, for example, using Salesforce's Quick Deploy feature. This would be very handy when getting ready for a production release and I need to validate my release the day before. Thus, on the day of the release, I would simply Quick Deploy it.

Copy reviewers to the cloned promotion branch PR in Pipelines (Bitbucket)
When Pipelines creates a promotion branch and copies a PR that was opened in Bitbucket, it does not copy the reviewers. This means reviewers have no way in the Bitbucket UI to filter for PRs that they're assigned to review.
Further, since all the cloned PRs are authored by the Pipeline owner, the lack of reviewers on top of that makes it quite difficult to visually differentiate between the list of open PRs, especially if you're both someone who creates & reviews PRs.

Ability to Filter Out Namespaced Metadata
I figured the best way to write this out was in the form of some sub-par user stories.
As a Salesforce Admin, I need the ability to do a comparison of two orgs/repos and have it show only non-namespaced metadata so that I can easily distinguish between things I own and manage vs what are from managed packages.
As a salesforce Admin, I want to be able to indicate that I want to hide all namespaced metadata while still being able to show custom fields I create on a namespaced object so that I can quickly deploy new custom fields.

Allow all admin users to run the 'Take Snapshot' functionality on Monitor jobs not owned by them
I would like all of my 'Admin' users (or specify which users in my org) can have access to run monitoring jobs I've set up.
The scenario is that we're a small team, so I want to set up all of our monitoring jobs, but if an issue occurs while I'm OOO any of my other team members could run the 'Take Snapshot' function to determine which changes occurred since the last monitor job ran and roll the changes back.
Currently users can edit/delete monitor jobs of other users and if provided 'Deployment' access can roll the changes back, but…

Let the user post Jira comments as internal or customer-facing from deploys
When deploying from sandbox to sandbox, we'd like the comments to post on the tagged jira issues, but would like to keep those comments internal instead of updating our clients. It would be good to have a security selection option when posting comments from gearset to jira.

Allow Record type additions and removals to be selectable
I am not a having an option to deploy the particular picklist values in the Record type level, I would like to include only the values I have added that are different from my target environment.

On Create Pull Request, auto populate details with commit messages
Similar to the way Bitbucket and GitHub work, it would be nice if the PR description was autopopulated from the commit messages (1 per line)

Notify GitHub that checks are running sooner
When a PR in GitHub is being validated, Gearset doesn't let GitHub know that the check is happening until after it has run the comparison between GitHub and the target org. Then the check is pending while the validation runs in Salesforce.
This means that there is a delay between when you create a PR and Gearset's check appearing as pending in the PR. At that moment, it looks like there are no more checks to run in GitHub so you can go ahead and merge. But, you really should wait until Gearset has compared and validated the changes.

Delete GitHub webhook when the CI job is deleted
When we create a CI job where the source is GitHub, Gearset can automatically create a webhook for us in GitHub.
Would it be possible to delete that webhook in GitHub when we delete the CI job from Gearset? I've got some GitHub repos with failing webhooks due to CI jobs I once created. Obviously, I can tidy up manually from GitHub, but it would be nice to have the option of Gearset doing it for me. The URL seems to be unique to the CI job, so I can't see it having any negative consequences.

Include Deployment Name on Continuous integration dashboard
On the Continuous integration dashboard, specifically in the Validation only CI jobs section, there is no way to associate a validation job with the deployment dashboard in Salesforce. We have a validation only job set up to run tests on PRs when they're created. If we get a handful of them all at once, there is a long list of validation jobs running, but we can't tell which one is the one that's actively running. There is no link between the job in gearset and the job in salesforce.

Make Gearset more responsive via web design
Currently when doing deployments I have realized when i migrate to a smaller screen that gearset isn't super responsive and sometimes i have to drag it back to my larger monitor. This was really highlighted when I was attempting to deploy some metadata from my phone (mac was updating).
Please make gearset more responsive so I can deploy from my phone.3 votes
