create a visualization of the DevOps process
Creating a visualization of the DevOps process removes the need for separate Visio diagrams or visual aids to represent the process. Also by creating this feature, you could allow for a drag and drop type feeling to represent CI Jobs, Data Deployments, Comparisons, etc. Users who may be new to a DevOps environment would pick up the process quicker allowing them to quickly adapt to the tools and this type of deployment mentality.

Display the Filter used in the Comparison history screen
It would be helpful in finding the right comparison to look at if you could see on the Comparison History screen which filter was used. It would also be helpful when looking at the comparison details to know which filter was used.

Link to test runs in Slack messages (or Slack messsage customisaton/templating)
I have automated test jobs post about failed tests to our Slack. I want the posted Slack message to include a direct (though maybe shortened) link to the "Test run details" so that when we see Gearset telling us about some tests starting to fail I would be one click away from seeing a view of failed tests the message is talking about.
Next/bigger step would be a way to shape the Slack messages ourselves. The most basic templating setup where I could write my own Slack message with some placeholders like {{instancename}} or {{failedtests_link}}..

Store formatted JSON in source control
The SFDC metadata API returns some items types as JSON compressed to a single line. For example, this applies to Wave dashboards (.wdash files).
Gearset neatly expands this to a more readable when visualizing and comparing.
However, in source control Gearset stores them in their original one-line compressed format. As a result, when doing merging and conflict resolution at the source control layer, these items are impossible to handle, as any change (whether technically conflicting or not) results in a conflict from git's point of view.
It would therefore be great if Gearset kept the expanded format for JSON data…

Selection Count Mismatch
The Selection count on ‘Compare and Deploy’ page doesn’t match with ‘Items Selected’ on ‘Draft Deployment’ when a draft deployment is opened. Having this in sync will help user that all selections are going in the deployment.

Queue Deployments
Current State:
A few devs have work in their individual sandboxes that are ready to be pushed to the higher .dev sandbox org
1st Dev deploys work to .dev
2nd Dev deployment fails because org is locked
Idea:
A few devs have work in their individual sandboxes that are ready to be pushed to the higher .dev sandbox org
1st Dev deploys work to .dev
2nd Dev deployment is queued up, 2nd Dev will be notified via email/browser when queued deployment has started

Give Permissions to Edit Automated Job Settings
Adding a feature to give users permissions to edit & delete Automated Test Jobs would be great. Today I had to hunt down a colleague to be have him edit his job when all I had to do was change the schedule. This feature would have saved a lot of time.

Show Created By and Created Date when doing comparisons
When looking at a comparison it shows changed by as a column, would be helpful for consultants to Show Created By and Created Date as well

Add the option to purge on delete
The metadata API has a boolean option to "purge on delete", i.e. permanently erase deleted items rather than just moving them to the recycle bin. This option is not exposed in Gearset currently, but rather hardcoded to "false". For CI scenarios in particular, it would be extremely helpful to be able to specify that this option should be set to "true" for deployments.

Allow complex filters and child relationships on filters for data loading
Allow complex filters and child relationships on filters for data loading. For example, filter the Account to only load if the Owner is an Active user in the system.

Be able to exclude single items from comparison
E.g. If I generally want to include all Custom fields for all Objects in the comparison, but there’s one specific field that I don’t ever want to send across to the target org, it’ll keep popping up and I’ll have to uncheck it each time.

Track Items Added to Draft Packages
It would be nice to be able to see which items within a comparison are part of Draft Packages. We have a need to build multiple packages from a single Comparison of Instances. This can be done by creating many Drafts, but it is sometimes difficult to know if items have been added to a draft package already. If we could visually see this, it would allow us to generate and confirm our packages much faster.

Add option to suppress managed custom fields in comparison results
When comparing Custom Objects that contain the managed custom fields there is no way to suppress the managed custom fields. The fields would show up in the comparison results even without being requested. The problem analyzers then highlights and remove these managed custom fields.
This is cumbersome when repeated and makes finding genuine differences we care about more difficult.
From the problem analyzers, it sounds like Gearset is able to identify the managed custom fields. Therefore could there be an option under [Include managed package] in the Custom Filters that allows the suppression of known managed fields in comparison results?

Ignore Unlocked Package Metadata In Comparisons
Currently, metadata from Unlocked Packages show up when comparing against an org. This leads to duplication of metadata in source control repositories (correct DX package repository and incorrect monolithic, "happy-soup" repository).
Using the Package2Member Object (Tooling API), it is possible to deduce whether or not a metadata item is part of an unlocked package. Therefore, it should be possible to ignore some or all unlocked packages (or any Package2 package), in a similar fashion to the way Gearset filters allow inclusion or exclusion of managed packages.

Ability to set a friendly name to the package
Should it be possible to set an equivalent of "friendly name" in Gearset but one that can also be spread to Saleforfce.

add the ability to run static code analysis against an org or source control, simply click refresh button to re-run it and see results
This will give you a "run code analysis -> see results -> fix issues -> push to source control (or an org) -> repeat" workflow.

test class not captured in deployment history
It would be nice to capture whatever test classes ran for code coverage deployment of classes/triggers in the deployment summary in the Test Results section. You already have a section for this test results so why not add the class names used in the report. We have come across many classes deployed without their appropriate test classes and it is hard tracking/documenting which test classes were used to deploy these as there are no documentations in the class.
